There is a few of us on here who have breaker cars so shout up if you need bits- be glad to help getting it back to oem! Well done!

I couldn’t agree more and I’m on my third Maldives E85. I’ve taken two of them from “breaker” status to perfectly decent cars and fortunately my current one doesn’t need too much work. The good news is Maldives breakers do come up from time to time and you should be able to pick up a boot for about £80.

Definitely change those wheels. You can pick up a reasonable set of daisies (103s) for about £150 which would complete the OEM look.

Welcome to the forum.

I’m pretty sure it unlatches the roof in the event that you need to raise it manually.

Welcome to the forum, that will be be a nice looking car when you have finished. Many years ago I owned an MG Midget that had a nasty looking boot rack bolted on with bolts. I removed it and filled the holes with filler and sanded and painted it. Looked great and couldn’t tell.
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Well done for rescuing it. Pretty sure you’ll be able to get the tint off the rear lights but if not then let me know as I have a set here.

Both those things are desirable options!
