MOT Pass

Post by IRD » Mon Nov 14, 2022 5:11 pm

Well the old girl got through her MOT today with flying colours. (No not the wife, the car). The pass is largely due to all the hard work bigwinn has put in since I bought the car. Thanks Stuart.

They don’t know what to charge now. I had an oil change and the MOT and it came to £231. I tried my usual ‘I am an OAP’ but with no luck.😉

If you hadn’t carried out all that preventative maintenance the result would have been very different.👍

I had a service last week, oil, oil filter, cabin filter (all Mann) but no air filter for some reason. Supposedly checked tyre pressures and removed wheels to check brakes and pipes (who knows). £210.00, includes a new sump plug at £5.94
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Mine is in December, I hope the suspension fails so I have an excuse to buy some new Bilstein's.

Hope all goes well. I must admit to feeling a real sense of relief now that it has passed. 👍

Too true - it's always a relief when you get a Pass, especially if there are no advisories!

We are down to one car at the moment. Waiting for new Mini Countryman to arrive. So it was important that the Z passed the test.

Another new car! You seem to changing them more often than Pondrew.

I hope you don't have to wait too long for it.

No I can’t compete with Pondrew. I think he has access to unlimited funds. It’s a long story and I hadn’t planned to change the 330e Touring at this time. However, there were serious problems with it and BMW although having the car in on several occasions admitted they were struggling to fix it. They suggested at one point that they would need to keep the car for seven weeks. At that point we decided to say goodbye to it. The Countryman is due in December all being well.👍
