My 1-series has a similar thing where you can set the ventilation to come on and clear the car before you get in, but it doesn't start the engine.
Think it's intended to cool the car a little on very hot days.
Are you sure that isn't what yours has?

You can have it in the garage or outside and it will warm up the car to whatever temperature you set it to, put on the heated seat and warm the steering wheel, just tell it what time you want to leave and it will have everything ready. In the summer you may or may not want it cooled at home or if it is in a car park on a really hot day, all from an App on your phone.

I can't find an option in the app for remotely activating the heated steering wheel.

I've only used the App once and that was to find where I had parked her when returning from Holiday.

Just thought it did all those things.

So is this a physical control module or an ECU Software thing for non US vehicles?
