M Sport Front Bumper Blanking Plate

Post by Spikey » Tue Nov 08, 2022 10:51 am

Bit of a random one - I need to refit the black blanking plate under the headlight on my M-sport bumper.
Initially I thought it would be a one minute job , but looks like the undertray may have to come off to fit it properly?
Anyone done this and any advice?

Reason this is required? - Pheasant 1 Spikey 0 :headbang:

Image

It is the black blanking plate directly under the nsf headlight.

It has a number of push fit mouldings which locate raised areas in the bumper itself but there is also a tab in the middle that looks like it needs a pin or clip to secure - this part causes a problem with aligning / pushing in

Hope that is clearer !

Are you meaning the tow eye cover, or the headlight washer cover?

Looks like I’m not describing this very well!

Look at the nsf headlight - down below is a large black blanking plate almost the same size as the headlight

I took those off along with the middle bit at same level to gloss black them a while ago, I put the two side bits back first by putting my hand in the empty middle hole . Then , once the middle section was back inside the bumper, I used an L Shape puller on each side of the middle grill to pull it back into the clip holders

Great thanks
I have tried some cable ties looped through either side but lining it up properly is still a mare - it’s the big ‘A loop’ protruding part in the middle that’s causing the problem - I can’t work out where it seats/located.

I’ll start taking other parts off to get better access at the weekend
