These are photos of a kettle we bought around 6 to 9 months ago from a Bosch store on Amazon, as you will see from the 1st photo of the filter it has gone rusty. I can’t believe that a genuine Bosch product would not have this in stainless steel or plastic. I would be interested to know if anyone else on here had the same problem? I have bought many Bosch products over the years and they have always been well made. Chinese rep maybe?

Guess you missed the step-in instruction book. Where is says "spray filter with rust preventor" before use!

That's not normal...

We've had the same model, but in white, for years - find that they last about 4-5 years and we're currently on our 3rd.

The mesh is definitely stainless and we've never seen a hint of rust on any of them - just checked and we got our current one from Amazon in January, so 9 months old, and mesh is as clean as a whistle.

Is it corrosion or staining?
Has the material become brittle?
Do you descale?
There are a 101 different grades of stainless steel, with different properties and resistance to corrosion. Maybe a supplier issue, after all any manufacturer is only as good as the suppliers they use.

Thank you for your replies, does your lid still flip up 1st go PerryGunn, ours doesn’t always now. Sometimes give up and use my finger in the spout. SARS this is definitely corrosion and brittle as can be seen from bits missing. We don’t need to de scale as we live in a soft water area. I wonder if it’s a Chinese Knock off.

I see where you've been going wrong, Mikey.
Don't put the tea bags in the kettle, put them in the cups (or teapot if you're old school). :D
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.
