Getting around to it....
Hey, It's Christopher from Ohio, USA.
A little more than two decades ago I worked for BMW's Financial Services company in Ohio. The employee program for vehicles was impressive and I would specify, order, and receive a new untitled car every 6 months or less for almost 7 years. For several years I was also in the Motocycle program and picking up a R1200C or K1200RS annually. Golden handcuffs. I was one of the lucky few to be able to drive around a preproduction Z3 as they worked out the bugs in the Spartanburg lines and in the new model. I had a few Z3's after -- as well as several 3 series convertibles. I moved on into working for other finance and logistic companies, married, added a ton of kids to the mix and coupes and convertibles were less useful. SUV's and Minivans have been the required transportation and they aren't half as fun.
Well, the kids are growing up and I decided that I'm not getting any younger, but still missed that coupe driving feel. I picked up a questionable deep sea blue 2011 E89 Sdrive35i from a seller in North Carolina for a modest price, knowing that it would need some rehab. I'm in progress in prioritization and OCD, while replacing missing trim and cracked rims. I've enjoyed the forum so far, especially the humor that often comes along with the wisdom and advice. I'm sure I'll ask about more than I can accomplish, but I have time since this is a fun car, not a necessary driver.
Thank you for all of the excellent engagement, and i look forward to joining into the discussion when I can.
