Hello!

Been lurking a while, planning to buy an E85 some time end of this year / early next.
Have learned an incredible amount already from some knowledgeable folk on here!
Dream car at the moment for me looks like a 6-pot roadster, sport, excellent service history, sub-70k miles…. although will be trying to get a better feel for what mileage these engines typically do before they start getting expensive to fix.

Matt

Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Hi and welcome to the forum. The 6 cylinder engines go on almost forever, if they have had the routine service done. By now, the original VANOS seals are most likely shot on pre-facelift e85s but they are doable and should not steer away from these great little cars - plenty of instructions and discussions available online and on the forum.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

All of the 6 cylinder engines can easily do high mileages, it's just ancillaries like starters, alternators, water pumps, etc. that don't last as long!
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Hi Lynchy,
Yes I've checked yours out... it's absolutely stunning!
Rightly or wrongly, I think I'd prefer to hold out for something with 70k - 80k miles.
The last BMW (E46) I bought at 70k miles and traded it in at 165k when there was a decent list of things that needed sorting, on this one I'm hoping to keep that list as short as possible for as long as possible! Unsure if that's sound logic or not tbh.
But if you're ever down near Kexby drop me a message and you can take me out for a quick spin!

We stayed in Sliema. Assume that was them running up the sea front in the f430. :D
