Best alternative to Royal Mail

Post by pvr » Sun Oct 23, 2022 2:26 pm

We send daily parcels with Royal Mail, but with just about the entire month of November being strike days we can no longer use them.

What are the best alternatives? We use the likes of UPS and DHL for all international packages already as Royal Mail could not handle Brexit requirements but the cost of using them within the UK is very costly.

Suggestions of reliable alternatives welcome

I've had good results just lately with Evri (Hermes). They will even collect.
But be sure to pick the correct service for your parcel size and weight.

If you use TopCashBack then look at Parcel2Go, who act as a broker and give you a bit of discount too.

Yes, and they are very keen to pick up the business as well by the looks of things.

Hermes were the worst, but since they have been re-branded EVRI, i found them to be excellent.
The updates and tracking have been 1st class. I received an expensive parcel yesterday, was a next day delivery
and bang on time.

Well, good recommendations and I am afraid if it works for us, the strikers have managed to destroy their business even more

I suspect a lot of the private companies will be offering good deals for businesses to get there foot in the door.

Good luck in finding one that suits your needs. Their gain will be Royal Mails loss.

It is just ashame that we invested in all the Royal Mail label printing hardware and software so it was always a case of just dropping all the boxes off once a day.

If a new company performs well and the customers are happy, I doubt we will go back to Royal Mail.
