Used car market

Fair point.

I wasn't particularly focused on you- just more intrigued if there were cars in the market that were holding strong. I know you were looking at "other" V8's/Performance models at the time and just wondered how they all compared now and then. The C63 market slowed down a fair bit with the boggo versions taking a bit of a hit. Be interested to see what the Alpina is going for now?

If the market could crash the manual coupe 997.1 turbo's with sub 40 thousand miles to under £50k I would be eternally grateful.

Even if you wanted to buy it, they wouldn't let you unless you have a 20 year+ history with Porsche UK and sign up to only going to them for servicing and parts!
I've read a lot about Porsche's antics recently when it comes to their cars; cashing in massively on the lack of supply to keep prices as high as possible.
Apparently this summer, if you walked into a Porsche showroom with a massive wad of £50 notes to place an order for a 911, they would show you the door unless you were a 'well known' prior customer. And requiring you sign up to only selling or PXing back to the dealer.
I have always wanted a 911, but don't want one enough to beg! :o

You mean there wasn't a full paint correction, Ceramic and PPF included in with the bargain price of 330k? Doesn't look to much of a good deal now.

Only my opinion and this is meant to be helpful but why are you buying these cars in the first place?
Is it boredom and you have money laying around that is burning a hole in your pocket?
If I'm correct since you have been on here you have had at least 4 cars, not including the Z4, that you have not really used and wanted rid of for whatever reason.
You have mentioned an M6 a few times in the past but I feel that this will just be another car that you will buy and only keep for a few months.
Maybe your next car needs to replace your Mazda and be a nice car that you can use for going fishing and be accessible when you want to use it.

I think “enthusiasts” often buy cars with heart and not head!

Nanu wrote: Wed Oct 19, 2022 8:12 pm For me I never take any notice of purchase or sale prices. Every negotiation starts and ends with the same question, what is the cost to change?

What figures they put on the bill of sale or any other documentation to me is irrelevant. All I want to know is how much is coming out of my bank account.
Cost to change is always how I work, years ago I bought a 939 Alfa Spider, one dealer offer me £10k for my Elise based on his car being £4k cheaper than the same car from a main dealer, I went to the main dealer had an equivalent car and got £14.5k for my Elise plus all the dealer warranty etc.

When Motorpoint called, I explained that I had bought a car from a main dealer, they were shocked as there car was £4k cheaper, I told them even though there car is £4k cheaper it does not make mine worth £4k less in the market, there's was £4k cheaper for a reason

It is boredom, yes. I have historically spent all my spare time buying, renovating and building houses, but that has come to an end at present for various reasons. I don't work much anymore either.
I have always liked cars but never, until now, had the spare cash, time or inclination to 'play' with cars. Then I buy them, don't really use them, so sell them then repeat. I need professional help TBH! :D

If only it was that simple, mate. The wife uses it for work every day; she refuses to drive an auto so won't use the 440.
