I have always liked cars but never, until now, had the spare cash, time or inclination to 'play' with cars. Then I buy them, don't really use them, so sell them then repeat. I need professional help TBH!

I read through this thread with some interest and picked this comment out. What do you get out of owning the cars that interest you? For me it's a combination of driving enjoyment and sharing them with like minded people. I use my MX-5 more than my other cars because there's an active owners' club and frequent, local cars and coffee meet ups. I can easily organize or attend a run to drive the car as well as socialise with others that have interesting examples. Perhaps if you buy a car you're more likely to have a reason to use socially (not just as a practical means of transport) you'll get more out of it.
