Hydro dipping engine bay parts
Just wanted to say a big thank you to KIS
he has kindly donated engine bay covers for me to hydro dip
And get some more pictures on here . It’s fantastic that so many people on here are there to help everyone else out. Fantastic.
Thanks again kis , I will get some pictures up ASAP . It may take a week or so because I only have weekends now the early dark nights are here. So please bare with me

Those are the same as I have to do for davros , along with some other bits too . Still waiting to see if davros wants to keep the stripes or go over them with the carbon. High black gloss stripes would also work very well, so maybe I’ll do that as a sample.

Prep the part .
Prime the section with the stripes
Paint the stripes what colour you want
Leave to dry for a couple of days cover the new paint strips in ( low tack) masking tape and cut around them.
Prime the rest of the part ,
Paint the rest of the part
Dip and rinse the part
The low tack tape will mostly fall away in the rinse process.
Once it’s totally dry you can clear coat a couple of times and leave to harden for a couple of days

Dave these hydro dips look soooo impressive. Agree with others here that, should you want it, you’re gonna be a busy boy supporting demand from the forum. The possibilities are endless (the nerf gun provides the evidence). I’m going to start writing a list of potential parts…

. Thank you , I’m hoping to pick up a few bits from the forum guys and girls , I promise to keep the pricing reasonable compared to some crazy prices I’ve heard . But to be fair. Those guys are running a full business and at the moment. For me , it’s more like a hobby. That saidjenniferlouise wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 12:04 am Dave these hydro dips look soooo impressive. I think the engine covers are very impressive, I’d love a Motley Crue themed cover with a gloss finish. Obviously not everyone’s taste but these can be replaced with standard ones and then put on the wall of a garage if I ever sell the car.

. You are only limited by the print , and even then , you can pay a bit more to have the company make a bespoke print for you, the company I use charge charge £25 per meter with a minimum order of 2 meters then it gets cheaper after that . This is against say , an off the shelf film that is normally between £5 to £10 depending.
I just ordered this as a possible central peace for under the bonnet where the noise carpet is

Even if I don’t use it on my car
It’s still good to play with different film because they all react differently
