What do I call my car?

If I'm talking to a car person I say "a Valencia Orange BMW Z4 35is, thats the one with a (lightly remapped) 3 litre twin turbo straight six, the N54 (from the 1M, you know?), with M3 front control arms and wider wheels from an M2 Competition fitted with wider Continental tyres instead of the run flat nonsense, yeah they're the Sport Contact 7's, beat the PS4S's in an online test, honestly, Google it mate." They tend to walk away about half way through.... :tumbleweed: .......
I'm okay with any "hairdresser" comments, I had a MX-5 RF not too long ago. I never heard those comments with that car, however, nor have I about my Z4. Maybe it's because I'm a slightly overweight 75 year old man? 8)

No one asks me. :(
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

My next door neighbour told me that I was driving a hairdresser's car to which I responded by telling him that my hairdresser drove the same car as he did

I get called 'dickhead' no matter which car I am driving. No idea why! :?

My neighbour did ask if the Z4 was a 'mid life crisis' car a while ago. I said "yes, you should have bought one when you had yours, you awd git". :D

RF's have always been on my try list since they were released. What was it like to live with?

I liked that RF a lot. It reminded me a lot of the roadsters I owned in the 1970s with little weight, little power, decent handling and a super high fun factor. Loved that manual transmission! However, I did not enjoy driving it much in city traffic. At least here, huge 4-wheel "off road" elevated suspension trucks are what the natives prefer to drive. Little ol' me felt like I would eventually be overridden by one of them on city streets. That was the main reason I traded my Miata/MX-5. Another, less important reason was the my wife complained the passenger foot rest area was very narrow, and the seat did not recline enough. Even though she very, very road in the car with me, I still decided to trade. It seemed a better way to go than trading the wife ...........since I felt uncomfortable on city streets anyway.

Interesting read and wise choice as opposed to trading in the wife!

I owned an MX5 NC last year and the passenger footwell was apparently too small in that too. Great cars to drive though - probably one of the best and pure driving experiences I've ever had tbh.

Are they all equipped with a LSD? thats what really made the NC a blast to drive.
