I appreciate these cars are summer cars for lots of people, not all I know, and can change hands frequently.

What do we consider too many owners for say a 2010/11 car?
Current:
2014 F15 X5 30d Msport in Sapphire Black
2010 E89 SE sdrive 30i auto in Sapphire Black
Previous:
2016 4 series 430d Gran Coupe in Carbon Black
2009 E89 SE sdrive 30i in Alpine White

Zed owners tend to split into those keeping them 4-5 years + and others who move on, often within a year..so 6 owners in 11-12 years is not unusal...IMHO

At that age it can be so many other factors..a BMW service history at that age is pretty poor comfort IMHO
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…
A very modified Atacama Yellow 35is

They do seem to change hands quite often.

My first one had 3 previous keepers when I bought it at 8 years old, next one had 5 previous keepers in 10 years and current one had 7 in 13 years which is pretty much in line with what B21 said.
Coupes because stunning!

Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

When I bought my car (2019) I did a fair bit of research on every car that caught my attention. Nearly all had more owners than I'd have wished for a 'regular' car. Typically each user was adding just 1500 miles before moving it on. Yet almost all had incredibly low mileages for their age too. Given that my highly regarded indy (RBM Hampshire) reckons that an annual oil change regardless of mileage is worthwhile AND the BMW service indicator system doesnt nag low mileage users' I'd be more inclined to worry about whether it got a service every year than whether it changed hands every year.

This is very true but sadly I think most owners aren’t enthusiasts and follow BMW’s recommended servicing schedule (because why wouldn’t you as you’d expect BMW to know what they are talking about) according to the dash readout which means almost every example out there will not have had annual oil changes.
