£50 and £20 notes

Post by MikeyH » Wed Sep 28, 2022 11:23 pm

Just seen the black belt barrister on YouTube going on about the £50 and £20 notes going out of circulation on the 30th September. This caused a lot of rushing around and looking in cupboards. My daughter’s safe from her childhood was a sod to get into :headbang:
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

I guess you know it's just the old paper ones that are being withdraw. Good plan to check under the beds of your elderly relatives. Well make sure they know anyway. Terrified to think what might be under some of their beds.

Treasury using any old excuse (death of a monarch) to cleanse the economy of untaxed income. B@stards.
I bet pikey campsites everywhere are currently up in arms about this too.

yeah, but even if they do go out of circulation, you can just take an old bank note to a bank, and they'll exchange it for a fresh new one won't they?

Exactly, just take them to the bank or Post Office. In fact most shops will staill take them as they can swap them anyway.

Besides, a £50 note will soon only be worth £20 in todays money the rate things are going.
