My MX-5 now makes a fraction over 200hp (158hp from factory, I think), it's had some suspension and brakes upgrades, has a full exhaust, and has OZ wheels on it. I don't plan on parting with it for a long time. So I am heavily biased in this thread. I preferred the looks of the 5 but don't mind the Abarth 124 either. However, I wanted a naturally aspirated car so the 124 wasn't in the picture for me.

I really like these and that looks spot on 8) Nice to have the good seats and 200bhp is more than enough for a light car like that. Would love one with a set of throttle bodies just for added lunacy!

I’m not a huge fan of the 124 but at least in abarth trim it looks decent.

I'm no mathematician but I'm pretty sure ten tenths is usually referred to as '"one".

Get one, I bet you'll love it.
Got to ask then after that....why do you own a Z4?
Because when I was looking the Abarth would have been the same price as a 35is, and I'd rather have the extra power and 6 cylinders. I know, that contradicts everything I said above... I'm a complex creature

If I could, I'd have one of each.

John, I had one on hire for the day in Tenerife a few years ago. Great fun for the day, much better looking than an MX5

Only thing I’d say is having the Zeds you may always be comparing them when driving it and then there may be an issue. I came away thinking great wee car, can’t wait to get back in the Zed

G29 M40i Thundernight with Ivory interior, all option packs (here for a while, hopefully )

But was some of that because you're built like a rather large industrial fridge Andy...?

I’ve not looked at these much, but the limited edition one in silver looks great! If they look great and drive as well as you say, then get one. The one I looked at was only £16k, with 17k on the clock.

Thanks, John. It has BBR's Super 200 package - stainless steel 4 into 1 manifold, different intake and exhaust camshafts, upgraded valve springs, remap, and cold air intake system (rerouted air intake). There's an equivalent Super 220 package for the newer ND2 as that vehicle already starts with over 180hp. I think that Roddisons in Sheffield may do similar modifications, although not advertised on the website.

I wouldn't be bothered if it didn't, but the car still regularly returns me over 40mpg when I do any kind of longer journey. I had Apple CarPlay added to it as well (the ND2 includes it, for the ND1 it's a Mazda upgrade).

I have it exactly how I want it now - it feels quite quick, the Recaro seats are great, the technology is quite modern, and it doesn't cost a fortune to run.
