ori wrote: Wed Sep 28, 2022 11:22 am I do like the new alloys. The purple is also stunning, but not sure it’s for me as a daily. I’ll need to see it in the flesh.

The new colours may convince me to get a new one in a couple years and get the final run of z4 cars. The only snag is the cost of these cars is going up. I imagine the LCI will be 60k specced up and interest rates will make the new car far more expensive for people who finance. The 2.9% that I got is long gone and I imagine it will be around 6-7% which means payments will be much much higher.

My car is under a year old. Can’t justify making the change now. Would literally be throwing away thousands!
I'm on the same boat as you. Just some new colours does not justify the cost due to higher base price and much higher interest rate. I'm quite interested in the ~285kw engine (as in M240i, M340i, M440i) to be fitted in the europe LCI z4. But we are obviously not going to have that. Maybe in 2025 when the interest rate falls back to last year's level or my employer's IPO is eventually done, I will get another one. Somehow, I am actually hoping BMW will run a limited number of last edition Z4.

q96169we, yup. With costs of everything shooting up, now is not the time for me to change a 10 month old car with 7k on the clock!

It will be interesting to see what the final price is. The ££££ is so bad that it alone may raise the price!

Well it’s on the uk car config page.

Fully specced m40i is 60k. No option of a manual on m40i.

Nice colour options though!

Well, everything ticked including 50 year of M badge and the service pack. Price is £61256. Without 50 year badge and service plan, it's still £60k which is about £5k-£6k more than before.

Purple and manual

If you want one of the new colours, a wrap would be cheaper then you can go back to the original colour when you realise you have made a mistake :D

Just noticed that the seat head rests are not in the middle of the roll hoops.
Why not?

So I'm guessing there's not going to be a manual M40i offered if the LCI upgrade is available to order now...? No news on any suspension or engine tweaks however so who knows..? Or maybe the LCI is simply front bumper and wheels. :?

The E89 LCI only changed colours, trim on the dash and front lights and side repeaters..some packages were changed…no engines save brain damaged N20, , no suspension, no brake changes..no media changes, no wheel changes etc etc…
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard..

They've added another set of wheels should you wish.

What difference is there to the lights..? Looked the same to me... :?

The only manual offering I can find in various regional configurators at the moment is on the 20i in Germany, and that's not new - although it has been updated with the new colours and suchlike so it's not just lagging behind. Could be that the six-speed will be rolling out to other markets soon but it'd be a bit peculiar not to have done it along with the other updates; everybody bar the US looks to have the new colours and packages on the configurator already.

It's a bit of a shame that we still don't get some options in the UK that others do - for instance, the black leather/Alcantara combo with blue contrast stitching looks quite nice but doesn't seem to be offered here, and Frozen Grey is M40i-exclusive here but available across the range in some markets. Dropping the 30i here but keeping it elsewhere also seems like a weird choice but I guess they must have their reasons!

I wasn't planning on changing anyway - like others, mine is too new (8 months!) and I'm very happy with it - but was interested to see what would be available in two or three years when I start getting the "would you like to trade up?" phone calls. The cosmetic tweaks are all pleasant enough but it's a shame the changes to option packages and models/trim levels mean a fair jump in spec just to stand still, and a massive one to upgrade at all.

I guess they drop the 30 as it wasn’t a big seller in the uk?
People tend to go for the 20 or 40?

If I really wanted the purple I’d get mine wrapped. Cheaper than buying a new car. ;)

I do love my blue though. Still the fastest of the m40i range. ;)

Resistance was useless...I have ordered a purple. I'm told the build date is November and delivery December - we'll see!

headlights visually were almost identical...LCI had LED DRLs, pre LCI had halogen DRLs..
