The eagle has landed
Its the Porker
Bit of a day yesterday, taxi, 2 trains and another taxi and I was in Reading, deal done and a 4 hour run back, car didn't miss a beat I'm happy to say the least
Had a pit of a play last night and it does drive beautifully, corners on rails, very composes with almost no body roll, gearbox is best I've ever used, so precise, which is nice after the agricultural box in the zed and proper hydraulic steering.its all a bit bloody fantastic.
Base model so only a 2.9 265bhp flat six but it feels like more to me, certainly a lot quicker than my old 3.0si, and that induction noise behind your head when you floor it
Decent spec.30k miles..fsh, .heated sports seats, touchscreen nav/command, middle range stereo that sound good enough to not have to piss about with, parking sensors, sport chrono pack, 19" carrera 2 alloys, some other schizz I can't remember
Only real downside to the car was it was a bit noisy in the cabin on the motorway, not sure if it was better or worse than the e89 which is also a bit boomy with tyre roar but its definitely in my plans to try and sort out with some sound deadening in the boot area and rear wheel arches.
I'll almost certainly be removing the decals on the sides ,bit of a detail although its nicely waxed up right now, probably refurb the wheels next year even though they're actually quite good nick with just one very small kerb mark on one wheel, maybe a exhaust mod, there's loads of induction noise but not a lot of exhaust note..jurys out on that , Ill live with it a while and see how I feel.
I'll miss the roof down fun but hopefully the driving experience will make up for it..who knows if the market crashes a cheap e85 might be in my sights next summer
Just a few pics, one after the long day yesterday and a bit of beading action from this morning

Lovely mate, be even lovelier with those decals gone.
Abstinence is fine, in moderation.

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Best choice of the 2, nice colour, don't mind the decals myself, have lots of fun.
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Right choice in my view
The handling is another level.
The noise as you push it is addictive and makes you chase the red line
Love mine , but still got the Zed as Cayman is short termer but so pleased I ticked the box as the experience is fantastic
Agree with removing the decals got mine taken off as just looked a bit cheap with them on
Enjoy

Nothing quite like that feeling of Porsche ownership , the flat 6 boxer is a motoring enthusiasts delight .
RE the cabin noise : the wheels themselves are not Cayman spec , pretty sure they are 997 C4 so worth seeing what tyres are on size wise & what brand my first drive in 997 C4 with Mrs W , she asked " is it supposed to be so noisy in here " it was on a virtually brand new set of PS4S , i sold the tyres & fitted new Vred Vorti & it was like a silent movie by comparison .
