M roadster weight.

Post by Sajk » Sat Sep 17, 2022 12:50 pm

I see the MR comes in at 1410kg and the regular 3.0 at 1290kg. Research tells me the s54 is about 50kg more than the M54. Where does the rest come from. Trim looks like it would be about the same?

The real reason is because the regular 3.0i is not 1290kg, its actually 1360kg for a manual and 1380kg for an automatic. There are many values online for the weight of the 3.0i ranging from 1290kg to 1410kg. The values I found above are directly from the 2003 manual.

Also I once took my car on a weighbridge and it came out at 1460kg, but included me and about 2/3 a tank of fuel.

Bigger/heavier brakes.

Bigger/heavier wheels/tyres.

Heavier/stronger differential.

Twice the exhaust system.

Corpulent drivers with bigger wallets!

I think the wheels are lighter than most.

Oh and no one has ever seen an ///M drivers wallet let alone weighed one. :D :P

Non-runflats have got to be a lot lighter too on the M.

I felt the weight of a 255/18 rear run flat for my E90. Felt like the wheel was still attached.

Ah. OK. Thanks guys. Looks like I should have referred to the manual not Google for the weights.
