Loving the car. Also have one with beige interior.
It is great that you are handy with all that stuff and I plan to learn that also. Saves a lot of money and is interesting. That USA country road stuff is amazing. Open roads with no or little traffic... I wish we had something like that in Europe, or maybe we do have but I don't know about them.
Good luck! :driving:

Got some style 42 wheels to try out. Came with tires. This is an experiment, but so far I like it.

I’ve been storing up some updates.

I got a BlueBus a few months ago. I have the business CD and it was easy to go through the trunk liner to install and it works well. No photos for that.

I needed to fix the clunk when shifting. I honestly thought I just didn’t remember how to time the clutch with the shifter. Most suggest the rear diff mount as top suspect and that was the case here too. I did change the guibo and front diff mounts for good measure.

Since I had to do that I decided I would do this too.

It was a bit of a pain to get back in I had to grind the case a slight amount.

I also ordered a circuit from Tanner to turn off my DTC for me on startup. So I’m having lots of fun. No clunk, no holding the button, and two tire fire.

I tested it in snow today. It was like Mario Kart.

Before I forget, I replaced a nasty old cowel. This cars from New Mexico and the plastic had twisted and distorted badly. No pics for that yet, or ever if I’m honest.

I’ve been busy working on another project, but I’m back with an update. I do see I missed a few little things.

First, here’s the nightmare I’ve been working on. Basically a scam car I’ve restored.

On the Z4. I finished the Style 42s.

I had really been sending it hard out of first at stops and such loving the WaveTrac. At some point I noticed a vibration. I wasn’t sure but thought it was a motor mount starting to go.

So I got all three of the mounts ordered.

When I sent to install the trans mount I noticed…. The year old Guibo was blown out!

Figures, they famously only fail when someone installs one backward, so I was already eating humble pie and checking the correct way to install them.

Got the old one out and compared the new…. What is this I see…

I put the mount on correctly, but the arrow was wrong!!!
I’m over it, the car is feeling much better, no vibration, and no weird problems from the failed Guibo.

We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…
