Home is definitely better than hospital!

I was in A&E and found it dirty - the floor was filthy and I never yet found and washing facilities.

Best avoided if possible!

Getting older is pain in the proverbial. Somehow you never think these things will happen to you and when they do it comes as a bit of a shock. Glad you have made a good recovery.
If I have something go wrong and end up in hospital, which has happened a few times in recent years. My Good Lady says to family and friends. “Oh! Ian has has had another attention seeking episode”. I have been given strict instructions not to have anymore.

I didn’t like my bed position in the ward - it was opposite the medics station and it was quiet disconcerting having them all staring over at my monitoring stuff and discussing me!

You're lucky. You could have been still waiting for that ambulance. Sometimes it's quicker phoning for a taxi.

Stay safe

Good to here you are well it's not a pleasant feeling.

I had viral Pericarditis several years ago. Suffered AF as a result, didn't appreciate the dangers. I was playing in a golf comp. Felt too ill to play the second 9 holes, but walked them, as I was scoring my partner. Went to the docs the next day when my heart rate was still high. He told me I should have been dead and went through a series of breathing controls with me that reset my heart rhythm. Then sent me off to Derifford. Carried a heart rythem recorder with me for moths after that. I still get AF very occasionally due to the damage that was done by the virus. But I know how to reset it myself now, so not a big issue. Last episode was last year, leading a walk on Dartmoor and felt the AF kick in. I automatically went through my reset routine in front of the group. Then had to explain why I had suddenly stopped and kneeled on the ground for no apparent reason. :D

The two paramedics were dispatched from Seaham to my place to the west of Durham city (15 mile) they told me they had relinquished their meal break take the call as I was classified as a priority call - after handover at hospital they took another radio com and went out on another call - still no break.

I asked about the other downsides, they said that they had been kicked, punched threatened spat at etc etc

Afraid something is wrong with society.

I felt like death warmed up but I was still able to remember a polite and genuine Thank You!

Glad your home Ron and on the mend, I agree society is mad when people come to help the idiots tart attaching them and if you defend yourself a little to zealously, you end up arrested.
