I Just want a classic Z
Hey guys, I'm not sure if this forum is dead, but this is where I've found most of my Z info since I dreamed of having one as a teenager. I now own an e85 Z and want to keep it in tip top shape so my kiddo can take over ownership in a decade or two. I just want a classic.
I've just recently started a career as an automotive technician in the past 2 years, but have not met a technician with the love for bmw that I have. So I have nobody to bang ideas off of, and decided I make an account here just to see if there's anyone here at all. Forums in general are dead so I'm taking a shot in the dark.
Its late where I am, will post pictures soon.
I am currently in the cosmetic stages, as the only issue I've had with my z was a slightly leaking valve cover gasket which is fixed, a broken rear dash (from previous owner relocating the roof motor) some scratched paintwork, and my black top is gray and ugly.
Currently looking into a top restoration option because the top is only a couple years old and I'd hate to fully replace it, and want it to match the black offset racing stripe I'm adding next week should weather permit.
:Update: some sentimental pictures I've had with my e85 featuring me my wife and pup the day we got her and our gender reveal balloons for my son

It’s not dead, just a bit sleepy at 6.35 on a Sunday morning when most of the UK contingent is still in bed!
Welcome to the forum. It’s kinda traditional to introduce yourself with a pic of your car in the Newbie’s section before anyone will talk to you.

Welcome!
I thought the same as you when I was looking for info - that the forum was inactive - and I wonder if you are having the same issue as I had. This was that the date and time stamps did not show on posts making it look very old. It's a very active forum actually - I'm sure someone can help you activate the post time stamps like they did for me - I'm sorry as I've forgotten how i did it!!
Anyhow, welcome, get some pictures and info put up about your car when you get time

Hello and welcome to the forum - one of the most active car forums I have ever been a part of with a great mix of nationalities and characters although a few should be avoided - they know who they are

Hi and welcome to the very best and most active Z4 forum in the world. Photos please.
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Good morning.
This is probably the furthest from dead forum on the whole interweb thingummy!
Full of fun and banter and very occasionally a small snippet of useful information.
I assume you are not UK based then?
Anyhow.................. welcome aboard. Look forward to seeing a few pics of your zed.

I believe there may be a compliment hidden in there?
Thank you.
