The best 3.0 manual I've owned
Hey, it’s all good publicity and keeps this thread in everybody’s newsfeed.
The nearest competition on here is boxclever’s toledo Blue 3.0 Manual, which I nearly bought but it needed a bit of cosmetic work which I couldn’t do myself. At 4000 on similar miles I thought it was OK value.
Add 800 for the MSport seats, 500 for the 224s and 1,000 for the very extensive maintenance and no real cosmetic issues to attend to, then you’re in the ballpark. Ask yourself how much you value peace of mind?

And I'm pretty sure Stuart is of a similar mind to me. We take pride in our work and should something be found to be less than perfect it will be called back to sort it. Especially with the whole forum watching!Zedebee wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 9:14 pm Hey, it’s all good publicity and keeps this thread in everybody’s newsfeed.

The 3.0i auto I sold on a couple of months back has been back to sort an issue that occurred and will most likely come back for services which will cost the owner for parts plus a beer!
So a small percentage of the asking price is for an unofficial warranty that is probably worth more than that offered by most professional dealers.

We'd drive you mad!
And anyway, neither of us have any room for your car.
You think I jest but this morning Jock156 (Brian) popped over to pick up a few bits off the 2.0 I'm breaking and couldn't fit his zed on the drive as there were already four on it!
(Plus my E89 in the garage)

You can't just compare to what's on here.....look at the wider market, private ads, garages ,Autotrader, etc etc.Zedebee wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 9:14 pm Hey, it’s all good publicity and keeps this thread in everybody’s newsfeed.

And that's my point, things like M sports seats don't add £800 of value to a z4 that's nearly 20 years old,or a set of second hand 224 m alloys add £500, or Thousands of pounds of maintenance and repairs don't add £1000 of value.
Generally speaking, these things are all great, and desirable, but it's very like options on a new car...... spending £5k in options only would add around £500 to £1000 come resale time,at say 3 or 4 years old,as a broad guide,IE about 10/20% of the cost of those options or extras.
The right options do add some value, more than others, but some just make it easier to sell.
Same in this case, that's all i was saying.

Yes I can, it’s an example

Not true, particularly for this age of car. There’s an established market for M sports seats, 224M alloys etc and these are factored into prices. I accept that the same doesn’t apply to preventative maintenance, but in this case you know exactly what you’re getting, hence my comment about peace of mind.

We'll have to disagree on that then.Zedebee wrote: ↑Sat Sep 10, 2022 8:17 amYes I can, it’s an example

I think others would agree,I wouldn't pay the sum of the parts, adding £800 of second hand seats and £500 on second hand alloys, and a £1000 spent on an aero kit, hypathetically speaking, and £1500 on repairs and maintenance, doesn't make a ,say £4000 z4 worth £7800, or a £10k z4 worth £13800.
It's always been the case, that options from new,and added parts,or mods, regardless how much they cost, don't add the same value of what they cost to add,be it new or second hand parts.

It’s difficult comparing prices on here with the wider world, i. e. AT. Members on here mostly understand that M-Sport seats and 224s are desirable to have and a car maintained by a member does give peace of mind to many. Those looking and selling on the likes of AT mostly haven’t a clue, including dealers, so these things don’t add to the price that they should over ones without them. Of course this is only my own opinion

Hi Stuart, are the 224s proud of the wheel arch at the rear? I put them into willtheyfit and they came out as more aggressive than a 20mm spacer on a standard wheel, which I felt was too much. How is it in practise?
