I'm not normally a fan of brown seats, but they've come out really well and should look great in a Tiefgruen car!

Commendable work!

Having done the job myself, it's not exactly straightforward in the living room!!

Think I prefer the original champagne? colour though. Each to their own.

Atb and thanks for your posts.

Green Tiefgruen Coupe - Rebuild

It’s been a while since I updated. The cold is winning at the moment and Tiefgruen 2.0 has been floating in the air on the ramp awaiting some new Bilsteins for over a month.
However I’ve kept warm and took the chance to overhaul the callipers. I’ve gone with a controversial red. Could be another marmite moment and can’t wait to see it all back together.

Biggest learning was the high temp paint choice. After grinding the calliper surfaces smooth and etch priming, I left it all to harden for 3 days. I don’t know if that delay hurt the adhesion of the high temp red paint but it’s not the strongest. I’ve ended up having to add a high temp top coat that needed curing to add strength.

Will see over time how resistant they are to stone chips.
I’m happy with the finish for now.

You're a brave man putting your calipers in the oven. :o

But they've turned out well, although I'm not quite sure how the red will look against Tiefgruen. :?

Thanks TomGreen :)

Today I test fitted the M bonnet and front bumper. It’s been done a few times on the forum but I struggled to find some pics of how the standard central and side undertray is different to the M so I took some pics for reference.

Im torn on whether to fabricate a solution from what’s there or wait till I can find some second hand M parts so I can reverse it all. The undertray and corners new are circa £500! :o

I finally got all the components together today ready for the suspension to go back together. I’m scratching my head on the seeming lack of need for bump stops with Bilstein B12’s. Can anyone confirm if that’s right or wrong?

Very nice! Original M-bonnet or one of the Skyer reps? Should look absolutely stunning, and you’ll have a LHD brother in the spring

Original //M Barty. Side Aeros are genuine as well. It’s going to need one hell of a paint job! Also resigned to the fact I’ll have to get the wheels redone. I think they came out darker than expected.

I’m looking forward to just driving it again to be honest!
