First time poster…
Hi all, first time on the forum and a first time Z4M owner too….
So to give everyone a quick intro - growing up my Dad was in the motor trade, buying, selling, spannering as well as ties with grass roots motor sport and so on so I guess it was inevitable that I was going to get the bug.
Wind forward 20 odd years and although I always liked my metal it really got its claws into me as I hit my late 20’s namely through interesting classics. My first classic was an 82’ Golf Mk1 GTI, loved her to bits and after 10 years of ownership moved onto a first off the line 84’ mk2 GTI, 1 owner, totally original, low mileage etc. But (there’s always a but) I had an itch and it was for a Z4 coupe and I just couldn’t shake it no matter how hard I tried.
Then earlier this year my Dad passed away, I took stock of life and thought what the heck, life’s too short so here I am, after 22 years of GTI’s I’m now the owner of a Z4m coupe e86. Some of you may know the car and if you do, any light that you can shed would be much appreciated. I know the car was owned by an active forum member called Looney in between 2019 and 2020 and then purchased by another forum member called Anthony who is local to me (Sutton Coldfield) Anthony kept it for 2 years and I purchased back in June this year.
My plans? Fair simple really, enjoy and preserve. For me the shape is so reminiscent of the classic sports/GT silhouette stuff from the 60’s and 70’s such as E-type, AC Cobra Daytona, Datsun 240z and so on.
Being an owner for just a few months my experience is clearly limited but already the noise of the famous S54 engine is already hardwired into my memory. Yep, I’m looking forward to the journey….
So here’s a few pics of her including the advert from Looney (Tom) incase it jogs anyones memory. So thanks for looking, apologies for the long intro but thought worthy of saying Hi and a bit about what kind of car guy I am.
Bye for now, Lawrence

We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

Thanks for the kind comments all, not expected!
I also have a dilemma that maybe one for another time - keep as is with CSL’s reps, evolve carbon intake (lovely induction noise) and slightly lowered on Eibach springs or return back to stock given all original parts came with the car.
Decisions, decisions…

Welcome on board. A little cracker you found there. Personally I love the OEM wheels over CSL's every time. Both look good.

Welcome to the forum, super looking coupe you’ve got there. The add ons you mentioned probably add to the driving experience - I’d be inclined to save them for any eventual resale further down the line

Hi and welcome. Echo what others have said; great intro.
Lovely looking motor. Personally I like the CSLs (reps or not) and the stance looks good, sort of 'OEM+' IMHO.

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.
