Multiple owners is not a problem in itself. However, the more owners there are, the more likelihood that it had one who didn't look after it.
Same as with a one owner car, if the history looks good then I'd be ok with it, if the history is poor then I wouldn't.

I have to agree with the majority here that a Summer sports car can tend to change owners every few years, you can also think of it this way, seller prepares car for sale getting any little bits sorted, then new owner spends the next few months getting it just right, so it could be a well looked after car.

The cracked wheels will need replacing.Jellybaby38 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 12:44 pm I figured it would be one of those things that divides people. I would generally prefer fewer owners, but the toy aspect of it is a consideration.
I'm still waiting to receive the service histroy/details of any work. The last MOT in Sept '21 showed cracks on both rear wheels, which then passed the next day, so I don't know if they were replaced or welded. We'll see what the history says. It's going into BMW Monday for a service/MOT so we'll see what comes out of that
I presume they are the 326m.
They are not built for UK roads, lovely as they are.
I would build this into the costings, or use to perhaps negotiate on price.

Indeed they are the 326M, good presumption. Out of interest, what would you replace them with for bumpy UK road purposes - I'm in Bucks and the roads here are TERRIBLE.

It’s a topic of much debate on here.
You could source two none cracked 326, but then change to none runflat tyres.
There is also some discussion about a revised 326m on later models or a from different manufacturer.
I think BBS is one of them, not sure of the other.
If you want to change all of them, the 325m look nice if you want to keep it Z4, others have replaced with 437m wheels or a similar looking wheel to the 326 but from a different model.
I think your first port of call would be to source to of the revised 326m wheels and switch out all four tyres. They do look great.
I am sure plenty of people one here with first hand experience of this issue can offer better advice. I have the peasantry 18”s!
Edit: I am assuming the wheels were welded rather than replaced. They may have been replaced, and if so, then change the tyres!

Mine's had 7 owners and it seems like every one of them has looked after it really well.

AFAIK there were no revised 326 wheels
There are no part codes or index numbers to substantiate that statement

We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

I agree with this we have a car registered to my wife that's been passed down to both our daughters so technically two owners not registered. personally I wouldn't consider the number of owners an issue unless it really stood out as odd which this doesn't really .
