Broken bolt extractor
Have a couple of bolts sheared off on the tractor that I need to take out. Looking at Amazon the sets generally have terrible reviews.
Any recommendations for a decent set?

So you need an extractor for a tractor? Is that your current tractor or your previous one; ie your ex-tractor?
Comedy gold, Paul!
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Unless they have broken off by bottoming out, they will probably come out with judicious use of a centrepunch applied (carefully) off centre in an anti clockwise direction on the broken bolt. Use a little heat on the part first. Removed many a broken bolt as a former toolmaker.

I suggest a Good soaking with penetrating oil for a few days- drill a central hole - then use an extractor - if it doesn’t move. You are then in a good position to heli coil

at a pinch , drill a nice size hole and use an old torx bit from a cheap screwdriver set ,, grind a bit of a lead on it first then tap it in , and usually the actual tap will loosen the bolt enough to turn the broken bit out with a socket on the torx bit. ... dont go daft beating it in though ,,, just a '' nice '' fit is enough to sort it out , if not its time for the real thing.

Personally I would use a mig in this situation with a washer and nut. The heat generated welding the nut on will do all the work for you.
