108 refurb without splitting

Not one for the purists but has anyone had 108’s refurbed as one piece?

I’ve got a couple of quotes and one suggestion is to not split them considering I only want one colour.

I think painted bolts would tweak my ocd but for £200 all in I’m wondering if it would be good enough. (They are heavily corroded at the moment.

Anyone done it and have some pics to share?

Hi, I am sure someone did exactly this as a DIY project and very recently as well. Deflated and left tyres on but given it was a home refurb they made a very good job of them. As you say they would have painted over the bolts but given the powder coat around the bolts seem to a weak point why wouldn't you.
Will see if I can find the thread...

Spot on....not for everyone but look pretty good £200 to have them painted seems a fair price. I had a quote of £280 to have just outer wheel (not the star) taken back to oem finish...
Hope this helps Street

Brilliant! Thanks guys!
I’ll go for the one piece. Having had a go at splitting one wheel tonight I can be suffering another stripped bolt.

might be worth buying a small orbital sander to help speed up the prep phase. otherwise that looks like it's going to take several hours if not days of prep before you can think about spraying them.
