Folding mirrors on lock

To do this you must first have power folding mirrors.

There are a lot of platforms that offer one click solutions but they simply didn’t work. I tried Carista. Says succeful but no joy. The same for Carista Beta and for BimmerCode basic interface. I’m sure it can be done with NCS Expert but that’s above me for now. So this is an easy solution and takes around 5 mins.

I then came across this on Bimmerfest (Not my work so not taking credit, I just found it so thought I’d share it).

I used BimmerCode £30 and a Vgate iCar Pro Adapter £20 from Amazon.

Now I can lock it as normal or hold the lock for 3 seconds and they fold. Then unfold on unlock. This will also put the windows up if the roof is down and fold the mirrors. It will not put the roof up unless you have Comfort Access (correct me if i’m wrong).

You will need to go into the CAS and CTM modules and then expert mode. You can search the module using the below addresses.

“I had the same issue, and I solved it via the expert mode.
In my case for the CTM module those 2 lines where not active, put them on active, and it should work.
* CAS : FH_KOMFORTF_MIT_SUBST
* CTM : KOMFORT_SCHLIESS_FBD89

If it still doesn't work check those values as well via the expert mode:

CAS MODULE (set both of these lines to aktiv)
KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB
FH_KOMFORTF_MIT_SUBST

(I only needed the above lines).

CTM MODULE (all of these lines need to be set to aktiv, some may already be set to aktiv!) I am not sure its the same with CVM module..
KOMFORT_OEFFNEN_FBD
KOMFORT_LADE_POSITION
KOMFORT_SCHLIESS_FBD
SCHEIBEN_ANHEB_OEFF_FBD
SCHEIBEN_ANHEB_SCHL_FBD
CAS : FH_KOMFORTF_MIT_SUBST
CTM : KOMFORT_SCHLIESS_FBD89

+ If you want to decrease initiation delay

FEM_BODY 3053 KOMFORT_SCHLIESSEN werte = 00 (Instant no delay)
or
FEM_BODY 3053 KOMFORT_SCHLIESSEN werte = 0F (1.5 sec delay)
or
FEM_BODY 3053 KOMFORT_SCHLIESSEN werte = 19 (2.5 sec delay)

Further translations can be found here. Although a lot of these are specific to the F30 the basics can be found.

Excellent info. Well done.

What I don't get is that you can code the mirrors, which is part of the comfort access, but you can't (or don't seem to be able to) code the roof to close on the fob, which is another part of comfort access.

I can understand the locking/ unlocking on the handles as there are sensors in them for that (or not), but the roof should be purely signal led?

Agreed. I don’t understand why it’s not obvious. I’ve not given up but I’m not optimistic either. I’ve achieved what I wanted. If I hit a wall then so be it.

If needed I may go the Smart Roof just for one touch operation as driving below 25 mph and keeping your finger one the button whilst changing gear is not a good situation.

Yes planning and all that but if you are caught short.

For now I can live with it 😎👍

I stumbled to the same solution with Carly and also coded the digital speedo - still on my to do list is the 3 blink indicator but not managed to work that out yet

Any chance this will also work on a 2006 E85 with electric folding mirrors

I would need to buy the OBD and pay for the in app purchases to try myself

Don't mind paying if it will work would be better for someone that already has the above to confirm it works thanks

At a slight tangent to the original post, it seems to me that BimmerCode requires just a one-time payment of £34.99 while Carly is an annual subscription. If they both do the same things is there any reason why one would choose Carly ahead of BimmerCode?

Carly will do service procedures and coding where as BimmerCode is just coding. The other linked App is BimmerLink which does service procedures.

The Bimmer Apps are a one off purchase so in the long term better value. The supported dongles can be purchased for £20 and also used for other apps.

Carly is very locked down to their platform.
