Mine seemed to go the other way - the X5M had gone from 350 to 700 and the Porsche from 300 to 400. The other cars stayed more or less the same so no idea why those two got hit so much.

No changes though
Current:
911-50 Black - unique spec
X5M - 575 hp of fun in a V8
Abarth 595 Comp.
Golf Clipper - collectors item
Z4 3.0si Black Sapphire
VW ID.3

Previous:
Z4M Silver Grey - non flimper spec (gone to Bing)
Z4 3.0 Toledo

Having sung the praises of LV endlessly..especially on the fact they don’t penalise mods..I’ve been royally shat on…

I declared all my mods and my 35is premium has gone from £230 to £1,760…

I went elsewhere for £270 with same declarations..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

My theory about low or no cost for a remap is that some insurers probably take an aggregate of all cars to assess their risk / premium for remaps. Since most normally aspirated cars don't gain much, the loading on an aggregated basis is low too. So it's just an algorithm.
I think it's always been the case though that heavily modded cars can attract big premiums?

Exactly the same here with LV. Changed a car mid-term and they went to town. Cancelled and went elsewhere. They even shafted me on refund.
I made an official complaint but never heard a thing.

Not a fan anymore. :x
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

F31 320i. Good car.
E89 20i Now fully dried
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half. Complicated!
Mazda3 sold
Tatty old R56 Mini Cooper. Money pit!

I understand the logic but in my case I had what appeared to be an equally heavily in their eyes modified 20i and that attracted no great premium..

Even the basic offer assuming no mods has gone from £270 to £370 …

Maybe they’ve bought enough market share now?

Mine is renewed tomorrow at £200, down from last years £223, that’s full whistles and bells with no restrictions on an E86 Si and with Priviledge. I was surprised that it’s gone down to be honest but on the bright side, it’s 2 gallons of fuel :driving:

When stating figures quoted can we at least have insurance companies named please? Just a suggestion to save time trying to find who it is. (Especially G29s as mine is due next month)

Apoligies Nanu,

Used gocompare for 1st time last year and got the free £ 250.-- excess.

It threw up Aeges Which was way cheapr than Direct Line who had been creeping up year on year.
Expected to have to do same and Gocompare, but nope Aeges renewed £ 57.-- cheaper than last year.

I was with Chris Knott for my MC last year but as usual the renewal premium had shot up when it was due in June.

I tried a few other options (comparison sites don't really work when you have modifications to declare) and ended up with Ageas via Adrian Flux for £270. :D
Coupes because stunning!

Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black
