Best place to get replacement brake pads and disks?

Post by Fox2000 » Mon Aug 01, 2022 12:51 pm

Hi folks
Another bill this car is proving pretty costly but all fair enough so far. I hoped to seek your opinion on brakes.
Got the ‘bong’ rear brake pads and disks need doing. Looking at the Bmw parts list it’s £160 for rear disks £100 for pads, £28 for a sensor so £300 for rear and nearer £400 for the front.
I have a 2016 2.0 model, any suggestions of the best suppliers I should use?
Thanks
Foxy

Does it need discs and pads or just discs?

I’ve used AutoDoc and went with coated Zimmerman discs and Textar EPads as the don’t give off a lot of dust.

Echoing the post..good selection at Autodoc..you can cooking or premium grades of discs…

Ditto on Textar ePad and Brembo HP pads..

Delivery times are the primary negative if you need something tomorrow..

Better discounts on the Autodoc app..discounts vary daily so best to strike when they are in the 35-40% area..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard..

+1 for Autodoc.

Same car as OP.

Got 4 discs, four sets of pads and two sensors (only one per axle remember) for £288 delivered. TWR brand with black painted hubs and low dust TWR pads. Work well, look nice and are lasting great.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

F31 320i. Good car.
E89 20i Now fully dried
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half. Complicated!
Mazda3 sold
Tatty old R56 Mini Cooper. Money pit!
