Soft top problem

Post by Mollykitch » Sat Jul 30, 2022 9:45 am

Hello
My 2006 z4 roadster has got a problem. The roof stopped working automatically even though the motor is working. More than happy to live a while opening and closing manually but I have managed to accidentally pull off the red plastic pull ring in the boot. The roof is currently stuck open.
Any ideas please as to getting red plastic pull ring back in place or how to close the roof?
Many thanks

Morning

Welcome to the forum!

Where are you based we have a wide range of roofers around the uk?

If the red ring is detached then the valve it operates should pop back into place unless it’s seized

Hi thanks for reply. We are in Gloucestershire. Is it easy to reattach the red pull ring? Any ideas how?
Thank you.

Once it’s off I don’t think you can reattach

You may be able to get to it further round the circuit as there is a while connector/adjuster that you can get to the cable

As you are Gloucester I suggest you get in touch with
number5
Alan who is Bristol way who will be able to help you

Good luck
