Remap my 18i
Hi,
My 18i its slow, lazy... need a little punch, not for a very high speed, but to get there faster.
I've read here in the forum about 18 and 20 can be remapped to be like a 28.
I would love to have it with more than 200hp, but its just remap or does it need additional hardware?
I'm used to few HP, whats your opinion about the best way to go not compromising reliability?
Additional question, my exhaust switch got stuck in open mode (nice noise when cold..), the vacuum tube its connected, maybe the valve?
Thank you

Many re-mappers..choose a quality supplier..pay the extra for before and after dyno runs..260 + BHP and 420nm+ are in your reach with comprising engine integrity..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard..

My Previous was an E89 18i manual Msport LCI, remapped, 282 bhp 453nm torque, Supersprint exhaust, decatted, BMW Performance front big brake kit.
Get it mapped and dyno tuned, upgrade your front brakes to 28i spec and wow what a different car you will have, highly recommended

Unfortunate typo there. He meant without compromising engine integrity
I'm guessing you not in the UK?
There will be a myriad (lots) of people offering remaps for the N20 wherever you are. Chances are they are based on the same underlying files. Just look up who has a good reputation and go with them, is my advice. They should offer circa 260-280 bhp and 400-450 Nm torque without going 'silly' on the boost.
PS You will notice a massive difference on a 'strangled' 18i. They are just better to drive, without numbers being mentioned.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.
F31 320i. Good car.
E89 20i Now fully dried
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half. Complicated!
Mazda3 sold
Tatty old R56 Mini Cooper. Money pit!

I’m having a stage 2 rather than 3 remap by Celtic next week for the very reason I don’t want to compromise the engine. Wondering if that was the wrong choice. 240 vs 280bhp on my 20i with 55k miles.

Frankly it’s pointless on so many grounds ..if you are going to do it ..just do it..
