Give me chuffing strength….

The gaffer has a first class honours degree in business and media. We’re eating outside and she decides to put a fan in the doorway blowing warm inside air….out….presumably to cool us when we eat….look how far the bloody thing is away from the table….makes you weep at times…🙄😳

It is a well known fact that every level of degree sacrifices some good, old-fashioned common sense.

Shame it wasn't physics, then she wouldn't have wasted the electrickery.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Several degrees cooler inside our house than out today. So I can see the sense in that.

yeah, not our preferred thing to do... yesterday downstairs doors and windows stayed firmly shut until about 10:30pm at night. peak outside temp was 37 degrees, peak inside was 26 degrees.

today we're doing an experiment upstairs... my wife thinks the best way to keep upstairs cool is curtains closed, but windows open with a fan to move air through. i think it might actually be curtains closed, and windows closed. so we're doing different methods on our two back bedrooms, to see which is cooler when i get home at 6pm today.

Was that pointing north, we felt a cool breeze earlier?

Well apart from the fact that all the cool air you remove from the house has to be replaced somehow: by dragging in warm air from outside.

On the upside the very stylish Dyson fan is on point....second thoughts, we had one and sold it because while stylish it just didn't work as well as something with spinning blades!

Ye but your Mrs was trying to cool the planet using the cool air from the house. Not the other way around. As such the idea is sound. Just that in practice you would not notice the good work much and as you point out your house ends up hotter inside. So the physics is sound, but the exercise is fruitless and backfires when you go back indoors.
