326 Alloy alternatives

I’m considering going down to 18in OEM 325M shown below. The roads around Chester are very bad and I’m thinking it will improve the ride on long distance too. Any thoughts?

Option 1
So after getting a quote for two cracks (one on each rear) plus powder coating on all four came to £800-1000 then I would need new tyres at £600. And there is no guarantee they wont go again. Something I’m not willing to risk.

Option 2
A full set of 19” VEEMANNs but prefer OEM.

Option 3
I decided I would play it safe and go down to 18 inch 325M five spoke alloys. Picked up a full set for £600. Not quite as sexy looking but safer bet and still OEM.

I will post pictures on my car when they arrive. The car in the photos is not mine. But has the 325M wheels.

They’re a good compromise, not quite as good looking as some 19’s but you’re far less likely to have aggravation with cracked rims.
I’d shop around if you end up getting them powder coated, i paid £200 for my set to be refurbished a few months ago & welds should only be £50ish each.
£800 to £1000 is well over the top!

Agreed. I normally use Romax UK in Stockton but as I’m down in Cheshire everyone wants to have your eyes out. The roads round here are very bad so I think getting them repaired will be a continuous thing hence my safe bet.

It’s a shame as they have been recently refurbished so they are immaculate. I will sell them on as is.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to me. Photos to follow.

Those 325s look like a good compromise - I do like 5 spoke wheels!

I got lucky and managed to buy a good used set of 295s for my previous Coupe, but sadly they've been NLA for years. :(
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

I have a set of those in my shed for sale, shame I'm the other side of the world. I also like the design but wanted 19s, so I went with 437M which are forged, so strong and light weight.
I try to avoid crappy roads though (he says with a pic offroad :) )

No problem at all, offsets are the same as Z4, et29 front and et40 rear. Tyres 235/35 and 265/30, design is close enough to original so I don't think wife noticed  But she did comment how the car drove better after I took of the RFTs, which even she said were shite.

Being a predatory vulture I feel it’s relevant that I have a set of 437Ms in gloss black with Michelin MP4S in 235/35 19 and 275/30 19 available .. :tumbleweed:

Do they fit with no clearance issues? If so can you PM your number and I will give you a call?

Hi yes 437Ms fit with no rubbing under any conditions on stock (MSport) ride heights..

That’s with 235/35 and 275/30 which given the rim size is the minimum width tyres you should fit..

I’ve bought a set of 325M from a seller in Germany on Monday but he is yet to dispatch them. Not good comms so have requested he cancel my order.

If he does I will be in touch. How much are we talking for your wheels?

Isn’t BMW Hubauer-Shop by any chance. They messed me about with an order, refunded but, when they did because of exchange rates and commission I got £40 odd less refunded to my card than debited. They weren’t interested in the slightest!!

G29 M40i Thundernight with Ivory interior, all option packs (here for a while, hopefully )
G29 M40i Misano Blue all option packs (Gone 26k of fun)
E89 35iS, Valencia Orange, Design Pure Traction pack (Gone)
    E89 23i sDrive, Silver (Gone)
