How things have changed

Post by Pondrew » Sat Jul 16, 2022 11:45 pm

When I was a kid the summer weather was shite most of the time. If the forecast was for a few days of good weather everyone was excited and planned BBQs (a new craze admittedly) and bought ice-cream. If a heat wave was forecast, all the better. Paddling pools and sun loungers in the garden

Come 2022; A heatwave is forecast and everyone is told to be scared shiteless, stay indoors, shut the curtains and many thousands will die.

Is it any wonder half the population have depression? :?
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Lol, I shall be out walking the moors as usual. If I'm not her on Wednesday to go climbing at Gunislake, then the nay sayers were correct, if I am then I may tend to agree with you? :D

Forecast is 39C here in East Midlands for Monday and Tuesday.

A tad unusual to say the least, I have a cardiac condition which could be worsened by high temperature so I have to take some precautions 8)

I'm in Madeira at the moment where the temperature is about 25 and I'm pleased to be away from a UK heatwave with it's accompanying humidity

Pondrew, yet again you have furthered my education. Previously I had no idea BBQs even existed in the 1940s. :poke: :D

Technically they didn't, Pondy and family were just using crashed German bombers to heat their meat rations.
