My car is the old e85 2.5i with bosche sensor number 0258005310 which is different from yours but is out of stock everywhere and I have my mot on Tuesday.
If light comes on during test I am stuffed which is unfair but I guess that's the way it goes these days
According to my MOT tester the check engine light is only a fail on cars from 2009 onward as I spoke to him about it and he said even if it came on it wouldn't be a failure as it was 07. I haven't checked the book myself but that's what he told me.

Not true unfortunately, it's July 1st 2003 for cars:

8.2.1.2. Gaseous emissions

Engine malfunction indicator lamp (engine management light or ‘EML’)
Turn on the ignition and check that the engine malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminates and then goes off. On some vehicles it will be necessary to start the engine before the MIL goes off.

You need to inspect MIL fitted to:

petrol vehicles including hybrids with 4 or more wheels, not more than 8 passenger seats in addition to the driver’s seat and first used on or after 1 July 2003

Pre cat sensors are available everywhere. It the post cat ones with longer leads that are unavailable in UK. Autodoc suggests it has a limited supply but I have read that people are being saddled with very high import taxes before items are delivered.
