Just came across this article justifying G29 M40i is a future classic. What do you guys/girls think?

I don't want to be mean as all Z4's are great cars but if it is rare enough in the future it will be a possible classic. It doesn't have to be a great car just old and rare, look at some of the old cars that are cherished now, Morris Minor, Ford Anglia and old dogs like the Austin Allegro, Austin Princess and Austin 1100 to name a few. Oh and the Morris Marina.
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Will have to wait at least 20 years to find out. But I doubt it. It doesn't have anything that has, so far, made a car classic IMO.

Talking a 3 year old car up like that is optimistic to say the least.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

F31 320i. Good car.
E89 20i Now fully dried
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half. Complicated!
Mazda3 sold
Tatty old R56 Mini Cooper. Money pit!

Let's hope so, my M3 became worth quite a lot more in the years that i owned it and i was able to sell it for a good amount and it will also be worth even more. But this one was also from 2002 so 20 years old.

But M3s are a rare classic, there seem to be lots of GLs about and that surely makes them less desirable as a future classic. Doesn't it?

Yes that’s true, that’s why I’m hoping that the z4 will be a classic. If not than it’s also oke.

If any Z4 is going to be a classic, it will be the E86.
