Installed one of these units today. Pleased with the results. Will be used primarily for streaming music, the odd phone call. I wanted to retain the original head unit but also have control of my phone from the stereo/steering wheel

I’ve been looking at these only this morning, what car/hifi system do you have?
I’m not sure if I have a DSP system or not, I do have the 6 disc multi changer in the centre console but accessing it from in the boot is proofing to be a real PITA

It’s the standard BMW head unit that came with the car (see pic below). I also have a 6 disc changer in the centre console, but you have to disconnect that via a hatch in the boot when installing one of these. This wasn’t an issue for me as I don’t tend to use CD’s anyway.
It connects to the back of the head unit. I’ve positioned mine just below the head unit, behind the air conditioning controls. The whole install took less than 30 mins

Theres a big diffrenece with the boot space on a 2.5 and a M that I have, I don't have a hatch in the boot to access my cd multi player. I also have factory SatNav.

Is that all the bits that came in the box? I've got one that I've not got round to fitting yet, but there was more wiring with it than in your photo...
