Being transported down on Friday at my cost. Dealer wants to check it over before giving my money back. Cheeky sod. The videos and photos I have are comical

Was driving it to the seller not an option?
I’m thinking of being with the car when he is poking about/fixing/bodging the problem - then giving you the old cock and bull story.

I’ve literally driven it 1 mile down the road put £50 of super unleaded in and parked it back up. It’s a death trap. Imagine if some poor lass had bought it or someone that doesn’t know what they are looking at that needed it as a daily and wrapped it around a tree

Keep ya powder dry!
I understand how you must be feeling at this time -way back In the 80’s I was in a similar situation with a cut and shut Saab 99 turbo. My situation worked out any here‘s hoping yours will.

I assume from the post that it was a long distance sale and you did not see the car until it was delivered?

Indeed mate. I can live with a few things to sort myself as I used to work for Audi then Vertu for years. But had a proper look yesterday again and if I didn’t laugh I’d cry. ABS and traction control off completely (lights don’t even come on with ignition on). Brake pipes corroded and smothered in grease and wrapped in tape in some places. Front tyres bald. Exhaust blowing. Oil level indicator does not work when up to temperature and on level surface. Brakes squeal like mad. TPMS light on dash. Very suss brand new service book. Coolant leak from expansion tank. The list goes on

Wow some interesting issues no ABS and traction light sounds very odd. Other issues can be expected, although buying from a dealer you would expect them to be rectified before sale, sounds like there has been no mechanical prep at all.
My understanding is if the car has been sold via a long distance sale you are legally entitled to a full refund.
I hope you get your money back and find a suitable Coupe

OP; if it was a distance sale, you have 14 days to reject the car whether it's good, bad or ugly. I don't see why the seller would want to inspect the car. It doesn't matter, you are legally entitled to reject the car within the 14 day period with no reason needed.
The fact it is sub-standard does not affect distance selling regulations, that is another law entirely.

I read somewhere that if you do reject the car, for any reason within the 14 days, they are obliged to collect the car at their expense (although I can't remember where I saw this and can't find it now).
edit; found something;

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

I think that the OP needs to rename the thread to
