Urgent help with new car

Post by CryptoWhale » Mon Jun 27, 2022 12:20 pm

I've had a new car for a couple of weeks now and I have just moved it onto the road an noticed the rear wheel is bent in!! :headbang:

Does anyone have any idea what this could be?? I know its not a Z4 but all the other forums are rubbish.

Really appreciate any help or advice

Thanks again

Urgent help with new car

Lower arm broken? Allowing the bottom of the wheel to push out?
Think there was a Z4 on here a while back with that issue. That had been fitted with adjustable lower arms and one had sheared.
Should be able to see if you get down under it?
Definitely don't move it like that if you can help it. You don't know what other components are being damaged. Tyre rubbing, brake hose pulled tight etc.

Always happy to help if I can.

If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

Well I don't see how the bottom of the wheel could move out that far if the lower arm was still connected and in one piece tbh?

Wheel bolts still all tight?
Does the wheel look correct in it's relationship to the brake disc? ie, is the wheel falling off?

I'm thinking collapsed wheel bearing, however you'd have surely heard it grinding..?

Loose wheel bolts as mentioned but expanding the pic they all look pretty much the same.

Get a jack underneath to take the weight of the car Crypto, if it is the bearing that could easily collapse with any more movement and the wheel will fall off. Dont leave it, asap.

Wheel bolts all fine. I’ve heard like a squealing metal on metal noise since having it when driving but apparently a common thing on these cars with the callipers sticking

I will get it on axle stands asap

Contacted the guy / dealer I bought it off waiting to hear back. Literally not even had the car two weeks

My father-in-law had a similar thing with one of his cars left in Sainsbury car park, someone had apparently bashed it with their car and driven away :headbang: Although not that bad. Are you an AA member, they will at least be able to tell you what is wrong before you approach the seller.

Are that lends weight to the wheel bearing theory then.

The guy / dealer that sold me the car has gotten back to me and said they will collect the car tomorrow and repair it and deliver it back to me.

Will keep you all updated as I am not entirely convinced it will just be a matter of 'picking it up, repairing it and re-delivering it to me'. :|

Really appreciate everyone's help, thanks very much

Has the car been in a previous accident? Could be my eyes but the door looks a different shade to the rear wing or vice versa, there may also be a blending line in the bumper.

Tim.
