I think the date is from the manufacture date?

Yes, my 20i was built in Nov '21 and according to the app currently wants its first service in Nov '23 or (another?) 13,000mi. Brake fluid in Dec '24 and a 'vehicle check' service in Nov '25 or 33,000mi.

(Tangentially, the 'happy anniversary' email I got from my dealer just after Christmas appears to have been triggered based on the date of delivery to them rather than date of first registration / sale too - for various reasons they were sitting on it for a month before I got to collect it!)

Been quoted £415 for my first service. That’s steep for an oil change!

From what I have seen, all the service pack does is spread the cost over however number of years. Is there any actual savings to be made?

If all you need is an oil change, I would be going to an Indy

Service inclusive is a one off, upfront payment. I'm covered up until 22/09/2025 or 62,137 miles. Cost was a bit over £600 iirc. Already had one service from it, any services the car flags up are covered until the date or mileage is reached.

That would be worth it. I must have been looking at something on the App being offered.

I tried this Black Friday and it wasn’t available. I still can pay full price for it if one of these bloody dealerships would call me back to I can buy it.
Even at £900 it is worth it.

It isn’t available on the app for our car and while it was part of Black Friday sale £600 for 2 years running, it wasn’t on the last one which meant we couldn’t order it. Very annoying.
This service for me is £415 although I have just found out they sent me a code for 20% off. So that makes it better. Next service is £750 so if I can get service inclusive now for £900 then I will as it covers the service after that too.

Or go to an Indy and save a fortune?
My 35is was serviced by my preferred Indy for the 7 years I had it and when I sold it, the dealers asked if it was fully serviced, I presented them with the service record and they said OK. They had already agreed a price by then so who it was serviced by was irrelevant.

I will get the first MOT done by the dealers, as they will put right anything that it may fail the MOT by under the warranty. It's also good to know that everything is OK when the warranty lapses. After that its back to the Indy.

So independent isn’t that much cheaper around here.

Regardless, I’ve been trying to get service inclusive from bmw dealerships. Called 3 and get passed from sales to service and vice versa and then no one calls me back.
Ended up putting a complaint in to BMW.
It’s £1000 and you can pay interest free for 10 months. Covers 5 years servicing so it’s still a good price. Wish it would have been available on Black Friday. :(

If I manage to sort it out though, I’ll send the contact name and number for you guys to add it if you want.

Unless you do high mileage that will only cover 2 services, though (on 2 year timed).
I was recently quoted £235 for an (out or warranty) oil service from BMW dealer, plus £70 for brake fluid on a B58 engined car.
Specialist Indy (who can update iDrive and BMW servers) are £199 and £65 respectively.

I have noticed they all like to include pollen filters, no matter what service you have. If I was the cynical type, I would say that is because a pollen filter costs them a tenner and takes about a minute to change.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Seems my miles means a service every 15 months so 45 months for 3 services.
Also London prices are higher.

Just got the service inclusive. £990 spread over 10 months.

For me it makes good financial sense. In London my first service is £415.
Next service is £750 and then you have the brake fluid change on top. So even there I’ve made a saving. If I make it to the following service then the saving really is bigger.
