Glovebox Strut

Post by ZedFore » Sun Jun 19, 2022 1:41 pm

Removed fuse #40 to disable headlight washers (preventive maintenance!!). Followed forum guidelines to drop the glovebox and needed to release a spring strut as well as the two push tabs. Photo shows the strut and square hole it fits into arrowed. It is like a shoe and you need to squeeze the front and back of the shoe and push up against the spring tension to release. To refit just place the shoe in the square hole and push the glovebox up to engage the shoe. Also noted and surprised that there is no glovebox light on this car.

Thanks for this. When I got my car that strut was disconnected and I've now been able to fix it.
