New 2014is owner Bluetooth help?

Post by Myheartwillgrosjean » Sat Jun 11, 2022 5:31 am

Hi all! I recently purchased a 2014 35is and was wondering if anyone was able to get the track/album information to show up when streaming music through Bluetooth from their phones? I'm using a galaxy s20 and Spotify and can't seem to figure it out. Tried re-pairing the phone a few times and making sure the idrive software was up to date. Otherwise loving the car!

There are different versions of connectivity…best route is to decide the VIN number and see what options your car came with.

It may not be possible to get extended metadata with your version of support….. :tumbleweed:

A very modified Atacama Yellow 35is

It seems like it has the options where it would be able to do that. Does anyone else have the same issue?

Haven't had a chance to try my wife's Iphone yet but I will give it a go. Good to know that it at least works for others.

Other way to cross check is to use your phone as an iPod by plugging it into the USB socket in the armrest and seeing how it goes

I have a 2014 35is and a galaxy s20 too. Tracks only display on mine if you go back to the phone list and select it from the multimedia screen i think

So update, I was able to get it to work! Through some google searches I found that enabling the developer options on my phone and changing the Bluetooth AVRCP version to an older setting ( 1.5 to 1.3 for me) and repairing the phone seemed to have done the trick. Hopefully this helps anyone else running into the problem! Thanks for all the help.
