Strange on LV..I've had both the 20i and 35is with them, both heavily modded no issues..we'll see at my renewal time in August..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard..

I'd suggest that you go onto gocompare and key in all the details. There's a drop down box in there where you can note the remap and it will take it into account when it crunches the numbers. That's all I did and it wasn't a big deal.

For the last 3 years I’ve been with LV (2020), Chris Knott as Broker with actual insurance policy with LV (2021) and this year (2022) again with LV but via Confused.com website. All mods declared.

Odd? I'm with Direct Line.
Had the remap a couple of years now and no issues at all.
Tbf, when I rang them I got through to a young lady who was a bit of a petrol head herself. Five minutes sorting the policy and 20 more discussing her cars.

Always happy to help if I can.

If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

Try A-Plan: https://www.aplan.co.uk/ I recently had my MX-5 extensively modified and tried Greenlight Insurance first but A-Plan was much cheaper. One disadvantage with A-Plan is that, being a broker, you can't just make FOC changes to your policy online at any time, you have to speak to them in business hours and there's normally admin fees.

I always use the compare tool at Quidco.
The cashback offsets any small bumps for the remap
Z3 rare 2L Straight 6. Should have kept it!
E85 3.0Si sold back in 2014. Should have kept it!

Chris Knott
Sky
Adrian Flux

All three have covered my Z4MC over the last few years with a long list of mods for a very reasonable annual premium. Worth calling them all and using one quote to get the others to 'sharpen their pencils'

I’ve been with LV for 3 years and no problem with the re map , always baffles me as to how someone gets a yes and others a no 🤷‍♂️ Crazy insurance companies with no rhyme or reason. It cost me more to declare the painted calipers than it did to declare the remap. 😵‍💫

+1 for LV... my renewal was £25 cheaper than last year on the 20i with re-map.
