Can this be done properly? Opinions please
As I can't find a new set of wheels that I like without spending thousands, I would like to paint the diamond cut/ polished faces and rims gloss black on my 704Ms and leave the rest Orbit Grey. Do people think it can be done well without looking...well a bit 'amateur'/ chavvy?
I have spoken to my local wheel refurb place and they want to have a look in person before committing or giving a cost.
Apologies they are not from a Z4, but I value opinions from here more than elsewhere in the virtual (or real) world.
The wheels in question:

I'd suggest a proper refurb place could do it and it would look ok, however they will take an age to mask up and that will reflect in the price.

I'm just not sure whether they will be able to mask them up well enough to get clean lines. If they are happy to do it and can assure me they will look good, then I could always do most of the masking and drive it there 'masked'.

Based on my experience of painted wheels (rather than powered coated ) I say don't bother. Paint just chips so easily.

Had a few diamond cut wheels done on a 208 GTi and cost was £160 per wheel and they did a good job

They just don't look quite 'right' on my car. I can't really explain it, but to me they are just wrong as they are. I know; first world problems and all that......

Before meddlling with colours i would start by getting the "///M" wheel badges the right way around
As for your idea of black outer lips & grey behind i think they would look disastrous

Best I've got at present (it's pis*ing down here). The additional bolt-on bodywork is gloss black, it has black shadow lines and the car is (obviously) Mineral Grey. Like the Grey and black theme....

They look well enough but little " wow " from them they actually look like 18s in the pic .
For little spend my first move would be spacers to give the car some stance , 5mm front - 12mm rear would help massively .

We are on the same page. They look a little 'lost', especially the rears considering they are 19". I am planning on dropping the springs by 10mm (have to be careful as it has adaptive shocks) and putting 12mm spacers on the rear and 10mm on the front. Still not sure about the 'silveryness' of the faces.
