Engine undertray
Known to Realoem as 'Engine Compartment Screening (51717012723)'
To me it's the big plastic tray underneath the engine.
Anyhow......... I am in need of one that doesn't look like it's lost a fight with a chainsaw!
Happy to collect if fairly local, or discuss postage costs.
Thanks in advance.

How much are you hoping to get one for? Emuff zed,as I ended up having to buy one from BMW,as they don't seem to come up often second hand,in good condition anyway.
Is it for the E85 or e89?

Nah the Z4M is quite different, I think I may have my old 1 in the shed, but I would have to check when I’m back from holiday so if you haven't found 1 in a week let me know

They are only £100 delivered for a new one on ebay. Probably third party but who cares it's just a bit of plastic.

Saw some there but didn't think they looked like they had the rubber seal part?
Also................ being old school............. I'm still not happy with 'only' and '£100' in the same sentence

LLL parts are offering genuine BMW for £72.91 although you can probably expect a hefty delivery charge.

Best on eBay seems to be this french one c.£74 delivered or best offer.

I picked up a decent second hand one on eBay recently for £50, don’t think you will get much cheaper unless a friendly forum member helps you out. A lot of the breakers are quite damaged.

£100 is nothing these days though. I'm just about to order porcelain tiles for some paving in the back garden. I'm not expecting much change back from £3k. That's only one item as well from a list of circa 50 that I need for the whole landscaping project. Trying to save £30-£50 isn't worth it in the grand scheme of things unless it's really easy to do. I would go for the french one for £74. I have no idea about the seal but I would assume that's a completely different part and they don't come together. Some times you just have to bite the bullet and just forget the stress and hassle of sourcing one.. unless you like the chase.

There is a wonderful resource that a lot of the enlightened forum members use, called Realoem.
In fact I quoted it at the start of this thread. Five minutes research on that showed me it comes as a complete unit and helpfully gives the part number.
You should try it: very handy.
You may have noted over the last year or so that, like Stuart (bigwinn), I have been tinkering with project cars. For me it is a hobby and my only aim is to not lose any money. To that end, saving £50 here and there soon adds up and allows me to then sell the car on at a very competitive price, with all the work done already.
There are ready two happy owners out there who have benefited from this approach, so I'll carry on catering to their tastes.
In the meantime, you carry on throwing money at porcelain tiles and your 'grand design' and I'll carry on asking for help from the forum to save a few quid here and there.
