this is a reasonable quote, expect the bumper repaint to cost around 395 and the bumper PPF another £350.00- 400.00 . its important to note that PPF by its very nature is not a perfect practice sometimes the lines are off abit, sometimes it doesn't quite line up and it may have the odd piece of dust under it. Think how difficult it is to get screen protector on your phone perfectly, now imagine a whole freaking bumper. Im not trying to out you off more manage your expectation. The best bit however for the small trade off that isn't really visible unless your nose up to it, you'll have paintwork that will be properly protected and will take some serious abuse, once the PPF is tired its a simply case of peeling off in a decade or so and go again.

ok, another update , got the bonnet , front wings, doors and those precious side skirts covered today.... All the pieces completed today just a pain in the ass.... As mentioned above PPF isnt perfect as many aspects are hand created on each vehicle even if their are patterns available , they will 90% need tweaking as no two cars are the same. and it has it cons BUT... for a car that i'm trying to preserve i think its the right way to go.
Pics show the cut outs for the washer jets, imagine cutting on your paint leaning over that massive bonnet and trying to get it neat.... came out pretty good
overall finish to the bonnet once it started to dry.
Doors being laid down.
ive had enough now lol

As Byron said,that's reasonable.
Although it should be there or thereabouts.
I had my Full front end done though,my Bumper,,Wings, Bonnet,A pillars etc,all taken back to bare metal.
Then painted better than any BMW Body shop is likely to do,given the BMW Guidelines for number of coats per undercoat, etc etc etc.
Interlagos Blue M RDSTR,2008. Logic7 dsp Hifi;satnav,stubby,htd seats,etc,etc.

oh man, tough tough day...
the rear wings on this car are TOTAL nightmare , the top flat section to the near 90 degree side section meant putting the film through hell ( then needing to get round sections like the ariel, fuel cap cover etc, but its on... ( if it stays on is another thing ) so at this point the 95% of the car is now covered in PPF film , ive got some small sections to do to the rear bumper, namely the side sections and into the wheel arch where the wheel kicks up stones etc . I wont be PPF covering the complete rear bumper as its simply not needed. I created a load section for the center piece and with the side pieces neatly added within the body lines this is all the protection i need on the rear bumper. To top it off my son was suspended from school for a day for bad behavior which really threw my mood tbh and out of character for him.
I stood back and looked at the car and although the PPF isnt perfect ( they never are ) im happy with the standard of work even more so when you consider i made 80% this ON this car lol.... Any patterns available for this car are basic and aren't great so it needs real skill and patience to get right and alter things to get a decent finish. The car will be put back together tomorrow and then it will do its magazine shoot , then.... it will be serviced, then its going to Donny!
here's some pics from today in no particular order.
Notes
*fuel flap cover was plotted as i simply cant free hand a circle this good...
*i extended the side skirts slightly so it wraps round the front edge , also note the actual plastic from the factory is rather wavy bmw QC wasnt great but again, nothing is perfect.
*the rear wing with the ariel has a plotted hole i then pain stakingly worked the wing down starting with this hole, lol! it took a solid 2 hours.
*The car looks dripping wet with gloss, really nice to see.
*PPFing a total z4m is nothing short of hell.
Tomorrow will see the wheels being ceramic coated inside and out, tyres dressed, ill then go over all the edges with a heat gun.

thanks buddy, I'm absolutely battered. At this point i almost wish i hadn't bothered, lol! but i'm home straight! magazine shoot is the 28th! so ive got it done just in time and the car has a week to dry out , hopefully we get some decent sun so i can leave it outside for the glues to set properly.
its super cool to see nearly swirl free paint , then when it does pick up swirls when i keep messing with it, its gone by the time the heating comes on in the morning

ok guys, shes DONE... what a week.... but its done. Here's some of the final pics. See my notes below.
* trucked the PPF into the fuel filler area
* excuse rusty rotors i made a big mistake not drying them off with a quick drive on the initial wash, the wheels were locked solid and i had to use the ramp to losen them off but lifting and dropping the car nearly 10 times whoops i should no better!
* Extremely high level of gloss now the PPF is curing. So pleased with finish.
*oem spinning hub caps added for additional bling.
* thicker PPF to the lower front wings
* Wheels and calipers were polished and coated with Gtechniq c5 wheel armour. This product is great for these high temp areas as it has a raised temp rating of 600 Deg
* Forward facing section of the rear bumper has been wrapped inwards and under in a parcel style for additional hold in this high traffic area, on my car these sections are taking a beating so im glad this is covered. ( not pictured as im at the pic limit)
*Carbon seats were polished and i look forward to receiving the new pads as they swirl / mar up easily.
*lastly im extremely tired now, so got a few days off before i head back to deal with my customer projects.
Hope everyone has enjoyed this process and i guess not many get to see this happen to this platform.
