Scotlands speed limits

Post by Mr Tidy » Wed May 04, 2022 8:53 pm

There seems to have been an epidemic of 50 limits throughout the UK in the last few years.

Quite a few NSL dual-carriageways in Berkshire have had 50 limits applied, but down here they claim it's to improve air quality. Then they replace roundabouts with traffic light controlled crossroads so even when there is no traffic you get to sit polluting the air waiting for nothing. :headbang:

Fine work

There has been a general reduction in the overall speed limits around Fife and Edinburgh, the latter of course deciding that basically the whole place is now a 20 zone :headbang:
30s are becoming 20s, 40s > 30s and 60s > 50s

Today I followed some plank in an SUV so big it had it's own moon!
We went through 20, 30, 40, 50 & 60 limits. As far as I could judge by the distance gained in built up areas, the cruise control was set to 40mph regardless and sod the world!
Limits will not affect these people. See that 'goalkeeper' gun system they have on Navy ships? That might just be the answer.
HQ of 'Norfolk Zed Rescue'.
Always happy to help if I can.

If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

Indeed, it’s like the past few hours was a dream, or it is actually Tuesday :x

Back on topic, there should be an independent review of speed limits as some make no sense, near me there’s a lovely eight mile scenic, undulating stretch of wide and well surfaced tarmac that’s now a 50 mph, if you turn off it onto single track roads, they’re all 60’s, madness :headbang:

Luckily I live in Lincolnshire, where speed limits are optional, like the rest of the laws of the land. It's similar to Greece and paying tax TBH. I'm sure we have different laws in 'interbredshire' than the rest of the Country. I think maybe it's because Westminster have never heard of us so don't give a sh*t.

20MPH speed-limits protects the motorist from potholes and the pedestrians from arseholes.
