Is this the one that 'just' needs a bumper and a bit of paint?
I've looked closer and there's more to it than that. But I do appreciate you looking for me Brian.

OK, I'll try to be a little more specific.
Whilst I'm not averse to swapping panels if required, I think mainly we want to be looking at the mechanical side of things: engine, suspension, roof motor etc. If possible an M54 as that is where my experience lays, for the first one at least.

rdm05z4 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 4:07 pm This is fantastic and very generous act you are doing for this young man. Just a thought as we have probable several hundred members on this site. If there is a way to set up a fund to help this young man's Dad buy a decent car for his son to work on and learn. I would be happy to contribute. A cut off amount can be set say 3k. And when as stated the car is sold hopefully for a small profit the son can put this towards his future educations. The logistics' may not be possible and not sure if this is possible or even allowed on this site just posting for member thought.
That is a very generous gesture, thank you.
I have to admit that I'm never 100% comfortable in doing this kind of thing as it feels like asking for charity when there are many more deserving causes. It's not as if it would be simple to pay back the donations from the sale either is it?
So I think, lovely idea though it is, I would probably say we would decline.
However, when it comes to looking for spares, if anyone feels they can offer a little discount to further Edward's education then that would be appreciated.
At the moment I have followed up a couple of leads (thanks Barry), but nothing is forthcoming.
It'll be a patience thing I'm sure, and in the meantime he can still help me get this 3.0i sorted.

If and when this project gets off the ground I will start a proper project thread for it.
Edward is already planning how he can join the convoy to the next one of Jock156's meets.

Cheers Brian.

Anyone got on any thoughts on a head gasket on an M54?
Don't mind changing it, but why did it fail, what else has it caused etc?

Brian, not being quite up on fb, apart from looking at marketplace, how do I find this chap?
Is it a group?

At the top of your FB page there should be a search bar. Type in his name. There will be many Chris Dovers :(
