Bronze or Gold wheels on a yellow E89?
As the title suggests before I do another gloss black wheel in the Apex Arc-8 I pondered if bronze or gold in some shade would work or would it just clash too much with the bodywork and/or brake calipers?

Bronze or Gold wheels on a yellow E89?
Ye it wouldn't work in my opinion, regardless of colour there needs to be some contrast. Dark on light light on dark etc
I think if it was silver, grey, blue red bronze wheels can look great. Ive been so tempted on my imola but my partner thinks it looks Impreza asbo.
So OE silver it is as personally I really dislike dark wheels, black or grey. They scratch easy, catch them stands out like a sore thumb, get them dirty they look matt. The most important thing for me is you loose all the detail.
Had two sets of 224s in grey and black and my minis have had black wheels never got on with them.

I wouldn't be keen on it myself, as others have said some degree of contrast helps things look good, and there would not be much with gold/bronze against yellow, but it all comes down to personal preference at the end of the day.
Unfortunately I don't have the photoshop skills to illustrate this, but I did find the following which might be of interest: https://wheelfront.com/wp-content/uploa ... 8240_o.jpg
Again, not really to my tastes. A google of "bronze and yellow alloys" will bring up some additional results.
(Speaking of personal preference, I think the black on yellow look is )

I knew as I was typing the question..seemed like an outside option but I thought I’d ask…
The loss of rendition with blacks is more of an issue for photography than the human eye as you can certainly see the detail when you are close to the car.
My newly discovered local quality wheel refurbishment facility only does silvers, greys and blacks …so another colour would require a trek to Edinburgh.
I think I’ll go straight to gloss black when the satin black Arc-8s arrive
Thanks for the feedback and comments

Or maybe gloss black and AY in some combination, to follow the rest of the car?

I think a dark bronze could possibly work, and another thing Gunmetal is/was the colloquial term used for bronze alloys used in the production of cannons and thereafter for any cast component in Bronze used for the Admiralty, when did it become a sparkly dark grey colour

A dark bronze may work seen that on some NA E89s in AY.
Gloss black is the safe option.

I think a dark Bronze may look OK, but I'd probably go for Shadow Chrome if I didn't want Silver.
But then I'm not a fan of Black Wheels - mainly because black tends to hide the style of the wheel.

I’m a fan of the satin black on those Apex rims, if that’s how they come? Why change? Try them for a while before adding a shine… Just a view A
